Broad-market exchange-traded fund IWM fell 1% and IVV rose 0.3%. Actively traded Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) was up 0.7%.
US equity indexes rose in choppy trading in midday trading on Monday as most government bond yields extended declines after a regional manufacturing gauge deteriorated more than forecast and ON Semiconductor's (ON) fiscal Q2 results topped estimates.
Energy
iShares US Energy ETF (IYE) dropped 1.5% and Energy Select Sector SPDR (XLE) was 1.4% lower.
Technology
Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) added 0.4%; iShares US Technology ETF (IYW) and iShares Expanded Tech Sector ETF (IGM) were higher.
SPDR S&P Semiconductor (XSD) rose 0.8% and iShares Semiconductor (SOXX) added 0.9%.
Financial
Financial Select Sector SPDR (XLF) slid 0.1%. Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was down 0.5% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) rose 0.4%.
Commodities
Crude was down 2%; United States Oil Fund (USO) dipped 1.7%. Natural gas dropped 2.7% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was down 0.4%.
Gold was down 0.2% based on Comex, and SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) was 0.4% lower. Silver was down 1% and iShares Silver Trust (SLV) retreated 1.1%.
Consumer
Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR (XLP) was marginally higher; Vanguard Consumer Staples ETF (VDC) and iShares Dow Jones US Consumer Goods (IYK) were rising.
Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR (XLY) added 1.8%; retail fund VanEck Vectors Retail ETF (RTH) rose 0.4% and SPDR S&P Retail (XRT) was fractionally lower.
Health Care
Health Care Select Sector SPDR (XLV) edged up 0.1%; iShares US Healthcare (IYH) and Vanguard Health Care ETF (VHT) were higher. iShares NASDAQ Biotechnology ETF (IBB) lost 0.4%.
Industrial
Select Sector SPDR-Industrial (XLI) was up less than 0.1%. Vanguard Industrials (VIS) was marginally lower and iShares U.S. Industrials (IYJ) was 0.3 higher.
