Exchange-Traded Funds, US Equities Mixed After Midday Trading

01:11 PM EST, 11/26/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Broad Market Indicators

Broad-market exchange-traded fund IWM fell while IVV rose. Actively traded Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) edged up 0.4%.

US benchmark stock indexes traded mixed midday Tuesday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average retreating from its all-time closing high the day before.

Energy

iShares US Energy ETF (IYE), and Energy Select Sector SPDR (XLE) each fell about 0.3%.

Technology

Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) rose 0.3%; iShares US Technology ETF (IYW) and iShares Expanded Tech Sector ETF (IGM) were higher.

SPDR S&P Semiconductor (XSD) declined 0.5%, and iShares Semiconductor (SOXX) fell 1.6%.

Financial

Financial Select Sector SPDR (XLF) was up fractionally. Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was down 0.1%, and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) rose 0.2%.

Commodities

Crude oil was down 0.5%, and the United States Oil Fund (USO) fell 0.9%. Natural gas edged down 0.2%, while the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) rose 1.1%.

Gold was up 0.3% on Comex, and SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) added 0.1%. Silver advanced 0.9%, while iShares Silver Trust (SLV) climbed 0.5%.

Consumer

Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR (XLP) added 0.2%; Vanguard Consumer Staples ETF (VDC) and iShares Dow Jones US Consumer Goods (IYK) also rose.

Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR (XLY) gained 0.3%; retail fund VanEck Vectors Retail ETF (RTH) advanced while SPDR S&P Retail (XRT) fell.

Health Care

Health Care Select Sector SPDR (XLV) rose 0.2%, while iShares US Healthcare (IYH) and Vanguard Health Care ETF (VHT) also climbed. IShares NASDAQ Biotechnology ETF (IBB) fell 0.4%.

Industrial

Select Sector SPDR-Industrial (XLI) rose fractionally, Vanguard Industrials (VIS) and iShares US Industrials (IYJ) were in the red.
