Exchange-Traded Funds, US Equities Rise After Midday

01:10 PM EST, 11/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Broad Market Indicators

Broad-market exchange-traded funds IWM and IVV were higher. Actively traded Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) was up 1.8%.

US equity indexes rose, led by gains in technology, communication services, and consumer discretionary in Monday's midday trading amid a flurry of activity to end the longest federal government shutdown in the country's history.

Energy

iShares US Energy ETF (IYE) and the Energy Select Sector SPDR (XLE) each added about 0.5%.

Technology

Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) rose 2.1%; iShares US Technology ETF (IYW) and iShares Expanded Tech Sector ETF (IGM) were also higher.

SPDR S&P Semiconductor (XSD) was up 2.6%, and iShares Semiconductor (SOXX) gained 2.5%.

Financial

The Financial Select Sector SPDR (XLF) rose 0.5%. Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) increased 1.4%, and its bearish counterpart, Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ), declined 1.3%.

Commodities

Crude oil was 0.1% higher, and the United States Oil Fund (USO) added 0.2%. Natural gas fell 0.6%, and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) lost 0.5%.

Gold on Comex added 2.3%, and SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) gained 2.4%. Silver rose 4.1%, and iShares Silver Trust (SLV) was up 3.9%.

Consumer

Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR (XLP) slipped 0.7%. The Vanguard Consumer Staples ETF (VDC) and iShares Dow Jones US Consumer Goods (IYK) were also lower.

Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR (XLY) added 1.3%. VanEck Retail ETF (RTH) was little changed, and SPDR S&P Retail (XRT) gained 0.5%.

Health Care

Health Care Select Sector SPDR (XLV) was up 0.4%, and iShares US Healthcare (IYH) and Vanguard Health Care ETF (VHT) were higher; iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) was up 0.7%.

Industrial

Industrial Select Sector SPDR (XLI) added 0.4%. Vanguard Industrials Index Fund (VIS) and iShares US Industrials (IYJ) were also higher.

Cryptocurrency

In midday activity, bitcoin (BTC-USD) was up 1.2%. Among cryptocurrency ETFs, ProShares Bitcoin ETF ( BITO ) added 2%, ProShares Ether ETF ( EETH ) rose 2.3%, and ProShares Bitcoin & Ether Market Cap Weight ETF ( BETH ) gained 1.7%.
