US equity indexes and most government bond yields fell in midday trading Thursday as investors weighed the labor market data alongside an evolving tariffs landscape.
Energy
iShares US Energy ETF (IYE) and Energy Select Sector SPDR (XLE) lost about 0.8% each.
Technology
Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) was down 2.5%; iShares US Technology ETF (IYW) and iShares Expanded Tech Sector ETF (IGM) declined as well.
SPDR S&P Semiconductor (XSD) dropped 3.2%, and iShares Semiconductor (SOXX) lost 3.9%.
Financial
Financial Select Sector SPDR (XLF) fell 1.8%. Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) dipped 5.6%, and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) climbed 5.5%.
Commodities
Crude oil lost 0.1%, and the United States Oil Fund (USO) fell 0.2%. Natural gas eased 3.1%, and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) dropped 3.7%.
Gold shed less than 0.1% on Comex, and SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) was 0.2% down. Silver gained 0.2%, and iShares Silver Trust (SLV) was fractionally higher.
Consumer
Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR (XLP) lost 0.2%; Vanguard Consumer Staples ETF (VDC) and iShares Dow Jones US Consumer Goods (IYK) were in the red.
Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR (XLY) dipped 2.2%; retail fund VanEck Vectors Retail ETF (RTH) was down 0.3%, while SPDR S&P Retail (XRT) declined 0.5%.
Health Care
Health Care Select Sector SPDR (XLV) fell 0.9%, and iShares US Healthcare (IYH) and Vanguard Health Care ETF (VHT) were lower. IShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) was 0.8% down.
Industrial
Select Sector SPDR-Industrial (XLI) fell 1.3%. Vanguard Industrials (VIS) and iShares US Industrials (IYJ) were trending lower.
