The US 10-year treasury yields surged overnight resulting in equities sell-off across the globe. The unprecedented US treasury’s 7-year-note auction prompted the 10-year to surge to around 1.5 percent.

One trigger for this move overnight is also that many Fed speakers made comments overnight emphasising that the run-up in yields reflects the improvement of growth prospects and inflation expectations.
