NEW YORK, May 29 (Reuters) - The Securities Industry and

Financial Markets Association (Sifma) said on Wednesday that it

is optimistic about the progress in the transition to the faster

trade settlement to date, according to a statement.

On Tuesday, Wall Street moved to a one-day securities

settlement cycle from two days, in a move aimed at making market

infrastructure more resilient.
