As CNBC-TV18 turns 20, we launch a 10 episode series 'Fund Anatomy' where investors can ask 20 questions to their fund manager. In this episode, Jinesh Gopani of Axis AMC is in conversation with CNBC-TV18's Sumaira Abidi.
Gopani’s 10-year stint at Axis AMC has seen him become the head of equity and he currently manages the flagship Axis Long Term Equity Fund and Axis Focus 25.
Speaking about the tilt of long term funds towards largecaps, he said, “We look for businesses that can survive for the next 10-30 years. If you go right on that, then there is no question of holding on to largecap, midcap or smallcap stocks. It is about having the best ideas in your portfolio.”
According to Gopani, there is no point in churning the portfolio just for the heck of it if the business is scalable and is delivering good value to the shareholders.
