Shares of Graphite India and HEG soared over 15 percent and 11 percent, respectively after torrid last three sessions.

Graphite India touched an intra-day high of Rs 799.70, jumping 15.12 percent, after falling for three consecutive days. The midcap stock has corrected more than 20 percent in the last three months, from a high of Rs 1,035 hit on October 19 to today's level of Rs 769.

Likewise, HEG shares hit an intra-day high of Rs 3,925, advancing almost 11 percent. The midcap stock also rose after three consecutive days of declines. It touched a three-month high of Rs 4,315 on October 19 and was trading at Rs 3,812 today.

The one-year return on Graphite India is almost flat at 0.1 percent while HEG has returned about 35 percent as on Wednesday. In last 10 years, HEG stock has added almost 3,222 percent in gains.

Meanwhile, benchmark indices edged lower after a positive start on Wednesday. The Sensex was trading up by 48 points at 36,366, while the Nifty was just a tad above 10,900 level at 11.05 am.
