Nilesh Shah, MD of Kotak Mahindra AMC, is of the view that quality stocks are best bought on days when stock market is having a bad day.

“Over next 6 months, there will be enough volatility, enough uncertainty. So wait for right time to pick up stocks. Don’t chase prices. Try to pick up quality stocks on a bad day and if you build a portfolio of quality stocks at reasonable valuation then irrespective of the election uncertainty, you could expect good return over a period of time,” said Shah on Monday..
Talking about the GST collections and fiscal slippages, he said,"The lower goods and services tax (GST) collections does put a pressure on fiscal discipline so bond market pricing in slight fiscal slippage."
With regards to the interim budget, Shah said, “Market will be looking forward to two things; One, how to fund fiscal slippage and second, is it one-off event or is this is a longer term trend.”
