Here's why market expert Suveer Chainani positive on real estate and technology
Dec 31, 2020 6:48 AM

Market expert Suveer Chainani is positive on the real estate and technology sector.

“The sectors that I am positive about is real estate and technology. Real estate is a very strong theme that will play out for the next 6-12 months. Within that, either look for financer or the developer themselves directly. Oberoi can be one play for playing the Mumbai micro market and DLF as a larger one. Within lenders, the top idea there is HDFC,” he said in an interview to CNBC-TV18.

On the pharmaceutical space, he said, “Pharmaceutical has done well. But I think despite all the production-linked incentive (PLI) noise for now it is looking toppish. It is not in top 11 ideas, but may be in top 15 or 18 pharmaceuticals will find a place.”

On markets, he expects the market to be bidden up in 2021. “There is a case that markets will be bidden up into the next year. It is much to do about interest rates than anything else. Of course there are earnings, which are also picking up and the vaccine is also coming – so there are all these tailwinds that will support the markets to be bided up. The risk is only if the CPI inflation crosses 8 percent or so,” he said.
