On Friday, one-time ally of BJP, Telugu Desham Party (TDP), launched the no-confidence motion against the NDA government in parliament.
The party chose Jayadev Galla, their member of parliament from Guntur to initiate the debate on the no-confidence motion.
Galla is also the managing director of Amara Raja Group, maker of the batteries by the same name.
His party was allotted just 13 minutes, but after covering that time, he asked for an extension of half-an-hour.
As soon as he started his speech, it started trending across various social media platforms.
The 40 minute speech in the Parliament also helped his company to become the most trending company in the news, social media among all companies listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Amara Raja Batteries got as many 54 mentions, 442% increase from its average social media mentions, according to the data released by BSE in collaboration with Sentifi, a leading Crowd-Intelligence platform for financial markets.
Amara Raja Batteries was followed by Sterlite Technologies, Bajaj Auto, Bajaj Finance and Gayatri Projects in the most trending companies list.
While Amara Raja was trending mainly because of company’s chief powering TDP’s no-confidence motion, other companies were trending on their April-June quarter results.
