08:17 AM EDT, 05/20/2024 (MT Newswires) -- US equity futures were slightly higher Monday as traders looked ahead to quarterly earnings from chipmaker Nvidia ( NVDA ) later in the week.
Dow Jones Industrial Average futures gained about 0.1%, S&P 500 futures increased 0.2%, and Nasdaq futures were up 0.2%.
Nvidia ( NVDA ) is scheduled to release its quarterly earnings Wednesday.
Oil prices were cautiously lower, with front-month global benchmark North Sea Brent crude down 0.4% and US West Texas Intermediate crude down 0.5%, amid political uncertainty in oil-rich Iran after the country's president died in a helicopter crash.
There are no major economic data due for release Monday, but traders are looking ahead to comments from Federal Reserve officials. Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta President Raphael Bostic is scheduled to speak at 8:45 am ET. Vice Chair for Supervision Michael Barr and Governor Christopher Waller both speak at 9 am ET, while Fed Vice Chair Philip Jefferson is scheduled to speak at 10:30 am ET.
