BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 rose for the eighth straight session gaining 235 points and closing at 60,392. Nifty 50 also closed in green rising 90 points to 17,812.

Top gainers on the Nifty 50 were Adani Enterprises, Bajaj Finance, Tata Motors, Bajaj Finserv and Sun Pharma were among the biggest gainers on the while losers were HCL Technologies, ONGC, Axis Bank, Tech Mahindra and ICICI Bank.

Among sectors, realty index added 3 percent, auto index gained 1 percent, while pharma, capital goods, oil & gas, power up 0.5 percent each. However, FMCG, IT and metal down 0.5 percent each.

Nifty Bank gained 192 points and closed at 41,557 while midcap index rose 200 points to 30,824.

Divis Labs posted best day in 18 months and soared up 9 percent after analysts saw exports movement improve in March.

Stocks of Diagnostic and Pharma companied surged nearly 3 percent with a rise in Covid-19 cases.

Meanwhile tech giant TCS ended the session up 1 percent ahead of Q4 results.
