The market is looking interesting for someone with a three-four year investment horizon as a lot of companies' earnings will potentially grow at something like 15-17 percent compounded over the next few years, says Rajat Jain, chief investment officer, Principal MF.
“I think it is a very interesting juncture where the market is poised if you are looking for three-four years,” Jain said.
For the one year investment horizon, negative returns could be zero or close to zero or marginally negative or marginally positive but for a two-three year perspective, people are still seeing fairly decent returns, he said.
"However, for three-six months, for the next 12 months horizon, a lot of events are going to play out – the elections, the political uncertainty, the emerging market scenario, crude – so not great for the near-term perspective,” Jain added.
India has always been a good bottom-up stock pickers’ market, he said, adding that in the last three-four months, the market has seen sharp correction across midcaps and large caps.
