The market is trading in the green amid global markets recovery. The BSE Sensex is trading with a 123 point gain at 35,029 points while the NSE Nifty is trading at 10,650 points. Pharma companies, ICICI Bank and Vedanta are losing in trade and are among the top losers while Coal India, ONGC and HDFC Bank are among the top gainers in trade today.

The market is trading in the green, though off highs, amid global recovery as tensions in Italy ease. The BSE Sensex is trading at 34,989 points while the NSE Nifty is trading at 10,636 points ahead of the F&O expiry today. Coal India, ONGC, UPL are gaining in trade while ICICI Bank, TCS, HPCL are trading in the red.
How did the market open?
The market on Thursday opened in the green with the BSE Sensex at 35,075 points and the NSE Nifty at 10,657 points amid recovering global cues as political concerns in Italy eased.
Infosys and Reliance Communications opened with 2% gains. Infosys on Wednesday said the company has finished its acquisition deal for a US-based firm and RCom has exited insolvency proceedings.
ICICI Bank, Axis Bank and Tata Motors were trading with losses. ICICI Bank was trading with more than a percent loss after the buzz that Chanda Kochhar, ICICI Bank chief, will undergo a probe.
HDFC Bank was contributing most gains to the indices, by gaining more than 3% in trade. Coal India and Power Grid were the top gainers for the second consecutive day in the market.
On the earnings front, Banaras beads, Bombay potteries and tiles, Dugar housing developments, Gwalior Poly Pipes, Himalaya Food International, Inani securities and Reil electricals India will declare their quarterly results.
Volatility persisted in the market on Wednesday and led to the Sensex trading in the range of 282 points, before shutting shop 43 points lower while the 50-stock index held 10,600, closed with a loss of 19 points at 10,614.
