Volatility in the Indian market continued for the third session in a row on Thursday due to political uncertainty in Karnataka.

The Sensex closed 239 points lower at 35,149 after trading in a range of 422 points. The 50-stock Index, Nifty finished the session 58 points lower at 10,683.

Here are the top stocks to watch out for today

Fortis Healthcare: Malaysian firm IHH Healthcare Berhard on Thursday said it has extended the acceptance period of its enhanced revised proposal for Fortis Healthcare to May 29 after which it shall lapse.

Essar Steel: Russia's VTB Capital-based NuMetal Ltd on Thursday told the company law appellate tribunal, NCLAT, that it has offered over Rs 37,000 crore for Essar Steel in the second-round of bidding, which should be opened and the highest bidder be selected from it.

Tata Steel: Our team is trying to get maximum value from Bhushan Steel's facilities, said TV Narendran, chief executive officer and managing director, Tata Steel.

Bhushan Steel: The debt-laden steel firm will declare its quarterly results today.

Reliance Communications: Reliance Communications and Ericsson have informed National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) that they are in settlement talks, said sources.

Aviation stocks: The DGCA data was released which indicated specified details, such as revenue, passenger load, etc, for the major airlines. The air passenger growth has fallen by nearly 4% in the month of April.

State-run bank stocks: Eleven state-run banks were studied for prompt corrective action, sources said.

Oil stocks: The oil prices inched up to $80 per barrel in the previous session. As of now, the oil stocks are trading steady.
