Midcaps, smallcaps may outperform largecaps post elections, says Motilal Oswal Private Wealth
Jan 9, 2019 8:02 AM

Motilal Oswal Private Wealth on Wednesday said midcap and smallcap stocks may outperform largecaps after election results.

With regards to midcaps and smallcaps, one needs to be focused on the quality of business and integrity of the promoters, and if they are careful then a lot of money can be made here, said Sandeep J Shah, associate director, Motilal Oswal Private Wealth.

“The market has held and made durable bottom at 10,000 net of any calamity happening but pre-budget the upside could be 11,000-11,200,” he said.

From investors point of view the important thing is their behaviour and asset allocation, said Shah. So, investors can look to buy dips, spread their purchases out till election results because while there are some concerns that have built up recently like liquidity crisis etc, there are also some silver shoots like recovery in capital goods showing up in the economy, Shah added.
