Power will be the dark horse of 2019 as a sector, says Sanjiv Bhasin
Aug 31, 2018 2:15 AM

The road ahead for the power sector is very clear, said Sanjiv Bhasin, executive VP-markets and corporate affairs of IIFL, adding that the sector will be the dark horse of 2019.

“Power Grid, NTPC are the largecaps but they will be sluggish movers, however the real action is in the names like Adani, CG Power and Power Finance Corporation (PFC). We have heard the conversations, we have met the management of Rural Electrification Corporation (REC), PFC and they are very positive, they are saying that the road ahead is very clear," he said..

Talking about RBI's approval on reappointment of managing director and CEO Rana Kapoor, he said, “We think Yes Bank has grown in stature and size and there will be able leaders to make it through. Rana Kapoor being there will be an icing on the cake and I think there will be a bout of short covering and value buying but we think that Yes Bank is at the forefront of one of the best amalgamation between retail and corporate loans and it will keep its image going for the near-term to medium-term."
