03:28 PM EDT, 09/13/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks rose late Friday afternoon with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) increasing 0.5% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) adding 0.6%.

In corporate news, Azul ( AZUL ) shares jumped 22%. The company is close to finalizing a deal with lessors to restructure about $600 million in debt, offering them equity in the company, Reuters reported Friday.
