Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Decline in Late Afternoon Trading

03:47 PM EST, 12/30/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were lower late Monday afternoon, with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) shedding 0.9% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) dropping 1.3%.

In corporate news, Worksport ( WKSP ) shares jumped 15% after the company said it expects to exceed its revenue guidance for the year.

Hain Celestial ( HAIN ) must face claims in a class action suit alleging that some of its products contained dangerous amounts of lead and arsenic as well as other toxins and contaminants, US Federal Judge Nina Morrison ruled Friday in federal court in New York. Hain shares were falling over 6%.

Vivid Seats ( SEAT ) is considering a sale after receiving takeover interest, Bloomberg reported. Vivid shares surged 20%.

Anheuser-Busch InBev ( BUD ) shares fell 1%. Russian President Vladimir Putin has given a local company control of Anheuser-Busch InBev's ( BUD ) joint venture, Bloomberg reported.
