Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Decline Late Afternoon

03:53 PM EST, 11/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were lower late Monday afternoon, with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) down 0.6% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) shedding 0.9%.

In corporate news, UK ministers intend to ban the resale of tickets to live events above their original cost, the Financial Times reported. StubHub ( STUB ) shares were falling 13%.

XPeng ( XPEV ) issued a Q4 revenue outlook below analyst estimates on Monday, while the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer's sales topped expectations in Q3 amid robust delivery growth. Its shares dropped 11%.

Aramark ( ARMK ) offered a downbeat full-year earnings outlook at the midpoint on Monday, while the food, facilities and uniform services provider's fiscal Q4 results fell short of market estimates. Its shares fell 5%.

Havas Chief Executive Yannick Bollore denied reports that the company is in acquisition talks with WPP ( WPP ) , Bloomberg reported Monday, citing an email sent to employees. WPP ( WPP ) shares were up past 7%.
