McDonald's (MCD) shares declined by over 6% after the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said an E. coli outbreak in 10 states is linked to the company's Quarter Pounder burgers.
Coca-Cola (KO) shares were down more than 2% after the company reported fiscal Q3 net operating revenue of $11.85 billion, declining from $11.95 billion a year earlier.
Hilton Worldwide Holdings ( HLT ) shares were down more than 2% after the company reported Q3 revenue of $2.87 billion, up from $2.67 billion a year earlier but below the $2.91 billion average forecast from analysts polled by Capital IQ. The company's Q4 adjusted earnings per share outlook of $1.57 to $1.67 also was below the $1.76 consensus of analysts polled by Capital IQ.
