In corporate news, Newegg Commerce ( NEGG ) shares jumped past 16% after the company said its new Advanced BattleStation gaming PCs are available and equipped with Nvidia's (NVDA) RTX 50 Series GPUs.
Warner Bros. Discovery's ( WBD ) CNN plans to cut hundreds of jobs as part of its strategy to shift to a global digital audience, CNBC reported Thursday. Comcast's ( CMCSA ) NBC News is also planning job cuts this week, though the total is expected to be less than 50, the report said. Warner shares rose 1.9% and Comcast ( CMCSA ) was up 0.7%.
American Airlines ( AAL ) shares dropped over 9%. The company reported Q4 results that exceeded market expectations, but projected a larger-than-expected loss for the current quarter.
Walmart ( WMT ) said Thursday it's increasing base pay, bonus opportunity and annual stock awards for market managers, the most recent in a series of enhancements to hourly and salaried roles across its US operations. Its shares added 0.1%.
