In corporate news, Walmart ( WMT ) said Friday that Doug McMillon will retire as chief executive of the retail giant at the end of January, with John Furner, the head of its US operations and a long-time company executive set to succeed him. Walmart ( WMT ) shares were down 0.6%.
Under Armour ( UAA ) has ended its long-term partnership with professional basketball player Stephen Curry amid an expanded restructuring plan, while the sports apparel and footwear company lifted its full-year adjusted operating income outlook. Its shares dropped 3%.
Netflix ( NFLX ) , along with two other companies, is lining up bids for Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), with non-binding initial offers expected by Nov. 20, The Wall Street Journal reported. Netflix ( NFLX ) shares were falling 2.9%.
