In corporate news, On (ONON) shares jumped nearly 18% as the company topped Q1 expectations amid strong direct-to-consumer growth while reiterating its full-year constant currency sales growth guidance.
Stocks that have gained substantial popularity on social media soared intraday Tuesday, extending a rally triggered by the return of "Roaring Kitty," the person behind the so-called meme stock craze in 2021. GameStop ( GME ) shares surged more than 38% in Tuesday trade after closing up 74% on Monday. AMC Entertainment ( AMC ) shares advanced 32% after climbing 78% the session before. Headphone maker Koss ( KOSS ) shares increased more than 25% following Monday's nearly 37% jump.
PlayAGS ( AGS ) investor Emmett Investment Management said Tuesday that it intends to vote against what it called was the company's "inadequate" proposed take-private deal with Brightstar Capital Partners. PlayAGS ( AGS ) shares rose 0.5%.
