In corporate news, Costco (COST) reported fiscal Q3 earnings and revenue above market estimates, while comparable sales trailed expectations. The shares rose 3.6%.
Gap (GAP) shares dropped 18% after the company forecast flat sales for fiscal Q2 and warned that renewed tariffs may cut as much as $150 million from operating income in fiscal 2025.
Ulta Beauty's ( ULTA ) strong quarterly results in a challenging environment prompted Oppenheimer to boost its price target on the stock to $510 from $465. Ulta shares jumped 11%.
