In corporate news, Uber ( UBER ) said Wednesday it will launch a shuttle service in the US and expand its delivery partnership with Costco Wholesale ( COST ) . Uber ( UBER ) shares rose 1.5%, and Costco climbed1.3%.
Negligence- and fraud-based claims against Tesla (TSLA) regarding its alleged misrepresentation of its vehicles' autopilot capabilities may go forward "to the extent they rely on representations regarding the car's hardware and imminent cross-country driving abilities," Judge Rita Lin ruled Wednesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California. Tesla shares fell 2%.
Netflix ( NFLX ) and the National Football League said Netflix ( NFLX ) will stream two NFL games globally on Christmas Day. The streaming giant will also show at least one NFL game on Christmas Day in 2025 and 2026 as part of a three-season deal. Netflix ( NFLX ) shares rose 0.3%.
Walt Disney ( DIS ) will cut marketing expenses for Disney+ streaming service to make a profit in that business, Chief Executive Officer Bob Iger said. Disney ( DIS ) shares dropped 2.5%.
