In corporate news, Tesla (TSLA) started offering rides in its Robotaxis on Sunday in Austin, Texas, with Wedbush Securities saying the trips exceeded expectations. Tesla shares jumped 9.6%.
The US Federal Trade Commission accepted a consent order to resolve antitrust concerns related to Omnicom's ( OMC ) $13.5 billion acquisition of Interpublic Group (IPG). Omnicom ( OMC ) shares rose 0.7% and Interpublic gained 2.8%.
SpartanNash ( SPTN ) shares jumped 50% after the company agreed to be acquired by C&S Wholesale Grocers for $1.77 billion, including debt.
Hormel Foods ( HRL ) named Jeffrey Ettinger, a board member, as interim chief executive officer and appointed John Ghingo, executive vice president for retail, as president, effective July 14. Hormel stock rose 1.4%.
