The United States Oil Fund (USO) was 0.6% lower, and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was up 0.8%.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was down 0.5% at $82.34 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark Brent lost 0.6% to $86.55 per barrel, and natural-gas futures were up 0.4% at $1.76 per 1 million BTU.
Schlumberger ( SLB ) fell more than 1% after reporting higher Q1 non-GAAP earnings and revenue.
