08:59 AM EDT, 05/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were leaning lower premarket Tuesday, with the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) down 0.1%.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was 0.7% lower and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was down 2.4%.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was down 0.5% at $78.73 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea crude oil lost 0.4% to reach $82.99 per barrel, and natural gas futures were down 1.6% at $2.34 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Petrobras (PBR) shares were down more than 2% after the company reported lower Q1 earnings and revenue.
