09:05 AM EDT, 07/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were declining premarket Wednesday with the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) recently down 0.01%.

The United States Oil Fund (USO) was down 0.4% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was 0.4% lower.

Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was down 0.5% at $82.72 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil fell 0.3% to $84.42 per barrel. Natural gas futures were up 1.4% at $2.352 per 1 million British Thermal Units.

Honeywell ( HON ) has agreed to acquire Air Products and Chemicals' ( APD ) liquefied natural gas process technology and equipment business in a $1.81 billion all-cash deal, the companies said. Air Products and Chemicals ( APD ) was up 1.3% premarket.
