09:06 AM EDT, 09/19/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were higher premarket Thursday with the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) up 1.5% recently.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was up 2.8% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was 2.3% lower.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was up 1.1% at $71.68 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil gained 1.2% to $74.55 per barrel, and natural gas futures were down 1.5% at $2.25 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Gran Tierra Energy ( GTE ) shares were more than 3% higher after the company said it has completed the offering of an additional $150 million in 9.5% Senior Secured Amortizing Notes due 2029.
