08:53 AM EDT, 09/30/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were leaning lower premarket Monday with the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) 0.2% lower recently.

The United States Oil Fund (USO) was down 0.3% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was 0.9% lower.

Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was up marginally at $68.21 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil was down 0.5% to $71.65 per barrel, and natural gas futures were down 0.8% at $2.88 per 1 million British Thermal Units.

Devon Energy ( DVN ) shares were up 0.1% after the company said it has closed its $5 billion acquisition of Grayson Mill Energy, adding a high-margin oil and natural gas producer to Devon's US operations.
