09:07 AM EDT, 10/23/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were declining premarket Wednesday with the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) 0.4% lower recently.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was down 1.3% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was 0.1% higher.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 1.6% lower at $70.62 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil lost 1.5% to $74.88 per barrel. Natural gas futures were up 0.9% at $2.332 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
NextEra Energy Partners ( NEP ) shares were down more than 5% after the company reported a Q3 loss of $0.43 per diluted unit, swinging from earnings of $0.57 a year earlier.
