08:59 AM EDT, 11/01/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were advancing premarket Friday with the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) 1.2% higher recently.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was up 0.5% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was 1.3% lower.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 2.5% higher at $70.97 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil gained 2.2% to $74.40 per barrel, and natural gas futures were down 1.3% at $2.67 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Baytex Energy ( BTE ) shares were up over 2% after the company reported an increase in Q3 net income.
