08:54 AM EST, 01/13/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks rose pre-bell Monday as the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) recently advanced by 0.8%.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was up 1.5% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was 1.3% higher.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 1.7% higher at $77.85 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil gained 1.2% to $80.75 per barrel, and natural gas futures were up 1.7% at $4.06 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
W&T Offshore ( WTI ) shares advanced by over 2% amid plans to offer $350 million of senior second lien notes due 2029 in a private offering.
