09:08 AM EDT, 05/28/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were advancing premarket Wednesday as the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) was 0.3% higher recently.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was up 1.5% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was 0.2% lower.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was up 1.6% at $61.83 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil gained 1.3% to $64.39 per barrel, and natural gas futures were 0.2% lower at $3.73 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Brooge Energy ( BROG ) shares were up more than 49% after the company said it signed an agreement to sell two subsidiaries to Gulf Navigation for about $884 million, including $125.3 million in cash.
