09:02 AM EDT, 06/06/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were advancing pre-bell Friday, with the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) recently up 0.7%.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was up 0.4% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was 0.2% higher.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was up 0.4% at $63.61 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil gained 0.4% to $65.58 per barrel, and natural gas futures were 0.1% higher at $3.68 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Petrobras (PBR) is targeting Africa as its main development region outside Brazil, Reuters reported, citing Chief Executive Magda Chambriard. Petrobras shares were 0.5% higher premarket.
