03:23 PM EDT, 06/30/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were lower late Monday afternoon, with the NYSE Energy Sector Index down 0.3% and the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) shedding 0.7%.
The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector index was slipping 0.5%, and the Dow Jones US Utilities index was little changed.
Front-month West Texas Intermediate crude oil declined 0.9% to $64.93 a barrel, and the global benchmark Brent crude contract was shedding 0.2% to $67.61 a barrel. Henry Hub natural gas futures fell 7.8% to $3.45 per 1 million BTU.
In sector news, Alphabet's (GOOG) Google has signed an offtake agreement for 200 megawatts of fusion power from Commonwealth Fusion Systems' ARC power plant in Chesterfield County, Virginia, according to a joint statement Monday.
In corporate news, TXNM Energy ( TXNM ) shares added 0.1% after it said Monday the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission has approved an unopposed stipulation filed by its unit PNM as part of its 2028 Resource Application.
