09:09 AM EDT, 07/09/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were advancing premarket Wednesday as the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) was up 0.2% recently.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was down 0.3% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was 4.6% lower.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 0.2% lower at $68.17 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil lost 0.2% to $70.02 per barrel, and natural gas futures were 4.1% lower at $3.20 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Venture Global ( VG ) shares were up more than 5% after the company and Securing Energy for Europe said they expanded their LNG supply agreement, with Securing Energy's subsidiary set to purchase an additional 0.75 million tonnes per annum of LNG from Venture Global's ( VG ) CP2 LNG project.
