09:07 AM EDT, 07/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were declining premarket Friday, with the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) 0.4% lower recently.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was 0.5% higher and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was up 0.4%.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 1.1% higher at $67.30 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil gained 1% to $69.35 per barrel, and natural gas futures were 0.2% lower at $3.33 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
New Fortress Energy's ( NFE ) proposed $20 billion natural gas deal has been blocked by Puerto Rico's Financial Oversight and Management Board, which warned it would give the company near-total control of the island's energy supply, Bloomberg reported. Shares of New Fortress Energy ( NFE ) were down 0.9% pre-bell Friday.
