03:29 PM EDT, 07/14/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks declined late Monday afternoon with the NYSE Energy Sector Index dropping 1% and the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) falling 1.1%.
The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector Index lost 3%, while the Dow Jones US Utilities Index rose 0.1%.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil fell 2.1% to $67.03 a barrel, and global benchmark Brent contract declined 1.5% to $69.28 a barrel. Henry Hub natural gas futures rose 4.5% to $3.46 per 1 million BTU.
In corporate news, Marathon Petroleum ( MPC ) shares fell 2.2% after Wolfe Research downgraded the stock to peer perform from outperform.
