09:00 AM EDT, 07/21/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were advancing premarket Monday as the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) was up 0.2% recently.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was 0.1% lower and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was down 3.8%.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was slightly lower at $67.32 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil lost 0.2% to $69.16 per barrel, and natural gas futures were 3.7% lower at $3.43 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
BP (BP) said it has appointed Albert Manifold as chair of the board, effective Oct. 1. Shares of BP were up more than 1% pre-bell.
