01:46 PM EDT, 08/26/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were lower Tuesday afternoon, with the NYSE Energy Sector Index shedding 0.8% and the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) down 0.7%.
The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector index was decreasing 1%, and the Dow Jones US Utilities index was 0.1 higher.
Front-month West Texas Intermediate crude oil declined 2.3% to $63.29 a barrel, and the global benchmark Brent crude contract dropped 2.3% to $67.24 a barrel. Henry Hub natural gas futures were 0.5% lower at $2.68 per 1 million BTU.
In corporate news, BW LPG ( BWLP ) shares dropped nearly 6% after it reported a decline in Q2 earnings.
