09:01 AM EDT, 08/28/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were edging higher premarket Thursday, with the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) up 0.1%.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was 0.3% higher and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was up 0.4%.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 0.3% lower at $63.98 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil lost 0.3% to $67.82 per barrel, and natural gas futures were up 0.4% at $2.90 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Oceaneering International ( OII ) shares were up more than 3% after the company said its Marine Production Systems do Brasil unit won about $180 million of subsea robotics contracts from Petroleo Brasileiro (PBR) or Petrobras in Q2.
