03:43 PM EDT, 09/19/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks fell late Friday afternoon with the NYSE Energy Sector Index dropping 1.1% and the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) declining 1.3%.
The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector Index fell 2.1%, and the Dow Jones US Utilities index gained 0.6%.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil declined 1.3% to $62.72 a barrel, and global benchmark Brent dropped 1.1% to $66.68 a barrel. Henry Hub natural gas futures fell 1.2% to $2.90 per 1 million BTU.
In corporate news, Rockpoint Gas Storage, backed by Brookfield Asset Management ( BAM ) , filed for an initial public offering in Canada. Brookfield shares added 0.6%.
