03:21 PM EDT, 10/20/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were higher late Monday afternoon, with the NYSE Energy Sector Index up 0.5% and the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) rising 0.9%.
The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector Index increased 1.3%, and the Dow Jones US Utilities Index rose 0.1%.
Front-month West Texas Intermediate crude oil declined 0.3% to $57.39 a barrel, and the global benchmark Brent crude contract shed 0.7% to $60.83 a barrel. Henry Hub natural gas futures jumped nearly 13% to $3.39 per 1 million BTU.
In corporate news, Sempra ( SRE ) shares rose 1.4% after Barclays upgraded the company to overweight from equalweight, and lifted its price target to $101 from $80.
