03:44 PM EDT, 10/24/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks fell late Friday afternoon, with the NYSE Energy Sector Index down 0.6% and the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) shedding 1%.
The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector Index was declining 0.5%, and the Dow Jones US Utilities Index rose 1.2%.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil shed 0.4% to $61.56 a barrel, and global benchmark Brent was slightly higher at $66 a barrel. Henry Hub natural gas futures rose 0.3% to $3.35 per 1 million BTU.
In corporate news, Sable Offshore ( SOC ) shares fell 3.5%. The California Office of the State Fire Marshal on Wednesday alleged deficiencies in the company's compliance with state waivers. On Thursday, the oil and gas company stated it "strongly disagrees with the allegations" in response to the regulator.
