03:14 PM EDT, 10/31/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks rose late Friday afternoon with the NYSE Energy Sector Index gaining 0.6% and the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) adding 0.9%.
The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector Index and the Dow Jones US Utilities Index each fell 0.5%.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil rose 0.5% to $60.85 a barrel, and global benchmark Brent crude advanced 0.1% to $65.07 a barrel. Henry Hub natural gas futures rose 3.5% to $4.09 per 1 million BTU.
In corporate news, First Solar ( FSLR ) shares surged 14% a day after the company reported that Q3 earnings and sales rose from a year earlier.
