01:33 PM EST, 11/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks gained Tuesday afternoon with the NYSE Energy Sector Index rising 1.8% and the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) gaining 2%.
The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector Index advanced 2.7%, and the Dow Jones US Utilities Index was little changed.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil rose 1.5% to $61.06 a barrel, and global benchmark Brent gained 1.7% to $65.16 a barrel. Henry Hub natural gas futures jumped 4.8% to $4.54 per 1 million BTU.
In corporate news, Shell (SHEL) is challenging Venture Global's ( VG ) earlier arbitration win in a dispute over Venture's alleged failure to deliver liquefied natural gas under long-term contracts while selling on the spot market as prices surged following the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, Reuters reported. Shell shares rose 1%, and Venture dropped 7.3%.
